Hey there! It's been a while. I’ve done a pretty great job of neglecting this blog for the past several months, but that’s all about to change. I’m getting back into the habit of writing and working on personal projects. One of which is what you see before you.
I’ve run this site on WordPress since it’s inception (I am, primarily, a WordPress developer after all), and it’s always worked pretty well, but I’ve recently decided to make a change. I’ve been quite interested in static sites and the performance benefits they offer and since I don’t get to play with those kinds of stacks at my day job, I thought I would tinker with my blog. So here we are, a fresh theme on a fresh site. My new stack consists of a static site generated with Gatsby using NetlifyCMS. I’m also hosting this site on Netlify at the moment because of all of their baked-in static site goodness.
I’m recommitting myself to posting regularly. I have an actual content strategy this go around and a few posts in the pipeline waiting to be published. I’ll be mostly posting about development topics, though some posts will be more applicable to a broader audience, such as online security and project management. Trying to do this thing right this time around.
That's all for now. Short, sweet, and informal (likely not the format of most future posts).
